How It Works
Data Sources
We aggregate data from multiple free, public sources:
- Stock prices: Finnhub and Alpha Vantage (free tiers, data may be delayed 15 minutes)
- News: Finnhub company news + optional FMP company news + GDELT Project fallback
- SEC Filings: Official SEC EDGAR database (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K filings)
- Fundamentals: SEC XBRL company facts (revenue, income, assets, etc.)
- Policy/Regulatory: Federal Register API for government actions
AI & Sentiment Analysis
Our sentiment analysis uses a rule-based NLP engine with a finance-specific lexicon. It is experimental and educational — not a substitute for professional analysis. We score each news article and regulatory document for positive, neutral, or negative sentiment.
ThirdEye Pulse
The "Pulse" indicator combines news sentiment, regulatory sentiment, and simple price momentum (returns + RSI) into a directional signal. It is clearly marked as experimental and should never be used as the sole basis for investment decisions.
